We are usually asked: “What is the difference between an arbor and a pergola?”A wooden arbor provides a little more shade due to the 2×2 slats resting on the rafters. They are typically spaced 2″ apart to cast more shade.

A pergola usually has rafters that provide a more open, shaded structure. But they give so much more than just added shade – they bring beauty to any outdoor space with vines, flowers, or fruit thriving on the structure. You can establish your own haven of outdoor tranquility by incorporating a pergola or arbor into your space.
